Problems of the Week are non-routine (not necessarily linked to what we are studying in class) tasks that require students to think, explore, research, and solve. The problems do not cover new material. Most of the problems lag one year behind the material being taught. However, students sometimes forget how to do something which makes these problems challenging, so students are usually given several days to solve them. We discuss, in general terms, as a class, how one might attack the problem, but students are required to solve the problem on their own.
POW Schedule for Trimester 1
POWs will be handed out on Monday's with the due date usually being on that Thursday. Any redo's will need to be turned in by the time the next one is passed our. POWs need to be passed in on-time as that is the only way that they can be scored and returned for revision before the next cycle.
You may work ahead if you wish. Click on the POW name to link to that problem.
