You can do a great deal to help your child
succeed in mathematics. Here are some strategies that can be
used through the year with many of the mathematics units.
- Encourage your child to do his or her homework. Provide a regular place and time to do homework. Homework is graded on completeness, not accuracy, making it extremely important that every problem is attempted every night!
- Have your child show you his or her math binder and explain to you what he or she has been doing in class.
- Help your child be more organized.
Sort through their math binder and check their agenda
frequently.
- Have your child explain the words from
our word wall.
- Encourage your child by explaining
that you believe that he or she will succeed through persistence.
