This is my second year at Feinstein Middle School, and I am so excited to be on a 6th grade team!  Last year I taught the Math Enrichment Courses for 6th and 7th grades.  Previous to teaching at ASFMS, I taught 8th grade for 5 years in Colorado.

Outside of school I dabble in a little bit of everything...I am a dance lover and former dancer, learning to sail a Hobie Cat, a beach lover, boater, and home body.  I reside on our farm in Foster with my husband, son, daughter, two dogs, cat, two cows, and three chickens.

In Math this year students will be working towards continuing to master their basic skills as well as being introduced to algebra related concepts.  With the introduction of the Common Core Standards in the coming years, we are changing around topics to be taught at the 6th grade level.  Topics that you can expect to see your student studying this year will include:

    ~ Fractions, Decimals, and Percents

    ~ Perimeter, Area, and Volume

    ~ Variables and Patterns

    ~ Integers

    ~ Data and Probability

Math This Year...

Within this website, you can expect to find the topics that we are studying in class, important papers for both references as well as studying, dates to remember, and homework for the week.  I look forward to a great school year with you and your student.

Homepage Notes...

Retake for Data & Stats Quiz available until 5/18 at lunch or during RtI.

B & C - Missing Tests & Grade Anxiety Problem Solver final deadline (including revisions) 5/22.

Moving through Trimester 3 we have learned operations with integers, order of operations, algebraic properties.  We will be starting our next unit on Variables and Patterns which will involve tables, graphs, and algebraic equations.  Please ensure that students are keeping up with classwork and homework.

Keeping with our push of Trimester 3 students should continue REVISING work in a TIMELY manner.  All students should revise when their scores are a 2 or less, and they need to be sure that they are STUDYING AND LEARNING the material BEFORE they walk in to retake the assessment.
