G R A D I N G

You will be graded according to 4 Math Standards/Expectations (each counting equally): 

• Skills --  includes correctly executing computations in all areas (including proper labels/units)
• Concepts --  this includes number & operations, geometry & measurement, functions & algebra and statistics & probability
• Problem Solving & Mathematical Reasoning --  this includes problems that may be on tests or quizzes &/or problem solvers
• Written and Oral Communication --  this includes written and oral responses on some tests, quizzes or reflections &/or problem solvers

PARENT/Teacher COMMUNICATION!!

Some students are starting the year off very well.  I would like to keep parents informed.  If you feel you are not getting enough information feel free to contact me for an update.  My email is PekrulNicola@coventryschools.net.  

If your child receives a failing grade on a quiz, a parent signature is required the NEXT day so I know that you are informed of your child's progress before it is too late.  If there is no signature the next day then a lunch or an after school detention will be given.  If a student does not show up to a lunch or an after school detention it will be rescheduled but the signed test is still required.  If a student continues to not have the signature then that student will be written up and further consequences will follow.  I do not want it to ever go this far so your child needs to know that communication between  home and school is required and that as they get older and become more responsible they need to be more involved in this. 

EVERY TEST is required to get signed no matter the grade. 

Please understand that I will not be able to email every parent who needs a signature.  Please ask to see your child's math binder.

  Feel free to email me periodically to check to see work completion.

I am hoping that this will help you feel more informed, sooner rather than later, when work is poor or incomplete.

H o m e w o r k

Homework posted on this site is subject to change at any time (due to schedule changes or progress in class).  The agenda is the first way to check homework and due dates.

Problem Solvers handed out last week are due Wednesday 5/9.

Additional extra help (besides RtI) Tuesday 5/8 before school (7:00/7:15).

Re-take days Tuesday, 5/15/12 and Thursday 5/17/12!

Students who did not complete Missing Tests or Grade Anxiety have an IE.  They have 10 days (due 5/18) to hand in the alternate assignment "More Missing Test" or "More Grade Anxiety".  All other requirements are the same.  For copies scroll down to POW links.

Extra Help Monday 5/14 after school til 3:30.  Late buses are available.
