INDEPENDENT RESPONSES TO LITERATURE

8th GRADE MENU CHOICE DIRECTIONS

Menu

·        A menu choice is a response to literature that will allow you to respond to the text you read in a creative manner.

·        You will complete a menu choice assignment whenever it is indicated on the reading calendar.

·        You cannot repeat choices. There are 10 choices, and you will have to complete 8 throughout the school year.

·        All responses must be typed or written in blue or black ink.

·        Each response MUST contain the proper heading: name, due date, class period, menu option, title, author, pages. For example:

Text Box: First Name Last Name – John Smith
September 23, 2011
B Period
Comic Strip

Freak the Mighty Rodman Philbrick 176 pages

·        On the day that your menu choice is due, use the appropriate rubric/checklist from your binder and attach it to your menu choice response.

·        You must follow the directions carefully for each option because they are different.
