1a: Demonstrating Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy:

Ø      See Official Records (transcripts, teaching certificate, testing scores, highly qualified certification), evaluations, letters of recommendation, professional development conferences and other workshops attended…

Ø      Actively involved in the Social Studies Department

 

1b: Demonstrating Knowledge of Students:

Ø      Through Observation

Ø      See letters of recommendation from colleagues, communication with parents, and open communication with students.

Ø      Varied use of instruction including modified work for all students in need.

 

1c: Selecting Instructional Goals:

Ø      Through Observation

Ø      Child Labor Unit/Other Lesson Plans provided

Ø      As a leader and a role model I have high expectations of my students. I set goals that are reasonable for all students to reach. Extra effort is given to those students who may need it. I believe that my job is not only to teach students content area, but to also teach students moral responsibility that should be used in every day situations.

 

1d: Demonstrating Knowledge of Resources:

Ø      I am aware of educational materials and resources available through our town, school, parents, team, departments and educational organizations.

Ø      I have planned numerous educational field trips including Alton Jones, Plymouth Plantation and the Freedom Trail. These trips are a great way to connect the curriculum to the real world.

Ø      Guest speakers, the local library and the school library have been used to support the curriculum.
